Project Overview
EnergyCore is a portable battery module developed to address one of the most critical challenges in electric vehicle (EV) adoption: limited range in emergency situations. Designed to provide an additional 47.8 km of driving distance, the module enables EV users to reach the nearest charging station during long trips or in remote areas. The system is based on the specifications of the Tesla Model Y, the world's best-selling EV in 2023, and is optimized for compatibility, performance, and portability. This project was developed within a theoretical framework, serving as a conceptual study rather than a commercially implemented solution.
Design Highlights
- Modular Architecture: Five removable battery units, each containing 95 series-connected LG Energy Solution 21700 NMC cells.
- Cooling Efficiency: Dual 60x60 mm fans per unit for optimal thermal management and extended battery life.
- Compact & Portable: Ergonomic retractable handle, 360° rotating wheels, and suitcase-inspired form factor for ease of transport.
- Durable Construction: Polypropylene Copolymer (PP-C) housing offering heat resistance, mechanical strength, and environmental protection.
- Quick Operation: Full charge in 2 hours and vehicle energy transfer in 40 minutes via CCS Type 2 connector.
